'You, Me & Tuscany' Review

Release Date: 04/10/26 [Cinemas]

Genre: Comedy. Romance.

MPAA: Rated PG13.

Distributor: Universal Pictures.

The Verdict: A Must-See

If you’re a fan of past travel-oriented romances like Eat Pray Love or Under the Tuscan Sun, then you’ll probably like this new addition to the genre.

Like its costars, You, Me & Tuscany is charming, gorgeous, and a great addition to the rom-com set. Halle Bailey’s angelic loveliness offsets any plot-holes; it’s actually fairly believable that she could squat in a Tuscan villa without legal repercussions.

Every shot in this film is prettier than the last. The picturesque scenery — it was shot in Tuscany and Rome — is matched only by the costumes, with Bailey in one picture-perfect dress or outfit after another.

And then there are the adorable Bailey and her handsome costar, Rege-Jean Page, who share delightful chemistry as their characters go from not-quite-enemies to… well, I won’t spoil it. Suffice it to say, these two are as charming as they are easy on the eyes. It’s not hard to root for them!

While the movie may seem simple on the surface, it’s meaningful in that it is a classic, well-made romantic comedy with two Black leads in joyful, light-hearted roles. This is not something we see often from Hollywood.

You, Me & Tuscany is the movie to have playing in the background during a dinner party or wine tasting. It is elegant, aesthetic, and takes the viewer away to a simpler time and locale. The food prep and cooking scenes were especially well-done; it’s no surprise that I left the movie and immediately felt inspired to chop vegetables and cook from scratch!

If you are a fan of Page from his Bridgerton days or of Bailey from her star turn in the live-action The Little Mermaid, then you will likely also enjoy seeing the Duke and the Princess in their meet-cute at a Tuscan villa.

You, Me & Tuscany is sweet, beautiful, and — just like Bailey’s character Anna — charming enough to forgive any faults.
