Two priests, one in crisis with his faith and the other confronting a turbulent past, must overcome their differences to perform a risky exorcism.
Based on a true story, The Ritual follows priests Theophilus Riesinger (Al Pacino) and Joseph Steiger (Dan Stevens) as they attempt to save a possessed young woman named Emma (Abigail Cowen) through a series of exorcisms. Ashley Greene and Patricia Heaton also star. Cassie Hager spoke with director David Midell about his Exorcist inspirations, and how his work as a disability advocate inspires his art.
