APRIL FOOL'S DAY SYNOPSIS:
Nine college students staying at a friend's remote island mansion begin to fall victim to an unseen murderer over the April Fool's Day weekend, but nothing is as it seems.
Don't let the joke be on you!
When Muffy St. John (Deborah Foreman, Valley Girl) invited her college friends up to her parents’ secluded island home for the time of their lives, she forgot to tell them it just might be the last time of their lives. Because as soon as the kids arrive on the island, someone starts trimming the guest list…one murder at a time. And what starts out as a weekend of harmless April Fool’s Day pranks turns into a bloody battle for survival. It’s just what you’d expect from the director of When a Stranger Calls and the producer of Body Parts, Species and several outings of Friday the 13th: a twistedly clever classic of the “holiday slasher” genre that’s essential viewing every April 1st!
OUR FILM REVIEW
April Fool's Day is a beautiful transfer that delivers the slasher that got lost in the mix over the years to modern audiences. Grain is unavoidable and with the 35mm film, this element provides a charm to the overall presentation. The audio is clean, although some of the dialogue as it was in its original orientation can get muffled in the sound mix. The 4K UHD offers English SDH subtitles which assist (a necessity for us). The film itself garnered a mixed to negative reaction from critics and audiences alike - gaining cult status as a holiday horror film.
