NIGHTMARE ALLEY (2021)

THE "IMDB" PREMISE:

"An ambitious carny with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist who is even more dangerous than he is."

OUR [TO THE POINT] REVIEW:

Ask any critic what the most difficult review is to write? Most likely their answer will be a movie they didn’t feel strongly about one way or the other; a movie they liked—sure, but just kinda felt “meh” about overall. That was Nightmare Alley for me.

I wanted to love this movie, to find myself a new favorite rewatchable; it felt like this was made for me. A renowned director and cast, carnivals, magic, and mystery—what else could an eager viewer ask for? However, overall it was a bIt predictable that once a scene started one could imagine how it would end. Granted, the performances were thoughtful and created suspense, the suspense was short lived. This is a decent watch, but overall forgettable.

CONCLUSIVE VERDICT:
