THE BIKINI CARWASH COMPANY SYNOPSIS:

THE BIKINI CARWASH COMPANY II SYNOPSIS:

The girls from The Bikini Carwash Company (1992) are back. Their business has been a success, and a purchase contract has been signed with an international megabusiness. But the company CEO is not playing straight - he wants only the land the car wash locations are sited on - to tear them down and build condos. The girls have only a week to raise $4 million to buy their company back. Lingerie sales over a TV channel is the method of choice, and since the product is demonstrated by the car wash principals, the flesh quotient remains as high as expected.

Drive right in for a Hot Rub down and a breath-taking Blow Dry!

Bikini-clad car wash attendants give a sudsy Los Angeles establishment a slippery edge on the competition in this cult classic double feature!

Suds, sun, and skimpy swimsuits abound in this cult-favorite double feature of early ’90s beachside comedy, The Bikini Carwash Company and The Bikini Carwash Company II. In the first film, straight-laced Midwesterner Jack (Joe Dusic) inherits his uncle’s failing Los Angeles carwash, only to learn that success comes easy when you staff it with spirited young women in bikinis—or less. Enter Melissa (Kristi Ducati, Intimate Obsession), a savvy business major with a plan to turn the carwash into the city’s steamiest success story. Hilarity, hijinks, and lots of soap ensue as the team "dresses for success" in the most revealing way possible.

The Bikini Carwash Company II finds the bikini-clad entrepreneurs fighting to keep their business alive after a sleazy corporate tycoon tries to buy them out. To raise cash, the ladies launch a racy cable lingerie business—where more than just funds get raised. Directed by Ed Hansen (editor of 9 ½ Weeks) and Gary Orona, these films became staples of early '90s video stores and late-night cable lineups like USA Network’s Up All Night. Fans of the era will recognize supporting appearances from Suzanne Browne (The Last Boy Scout) and a cameo by B-movie legend Jim Wynorski (Chopping Mall).

This Blu-ray release from MVD Rewind Collection marks the first high-definition appearance of both features, presented in their original 1.33:1 aspect ratio. Because both films were originally shot and edited on standard definition videotape, they’ve been carefully remastered using advanced AI upscaling from 480p to 1080p resolution. Packaged with a collectible slipcover, this release is the definitive way to revisit these irreverent, sun-soaked cult comedies that turned a bucket of water and a bikini into box office gold.

OUR FILM REVIEW

This double feature is exactly what you'd expect from a film titled, The Bikini Carwash Company - lots of bikini clad women that happen to have their tops fly off while washing cars. There is a plot... sort of. It's a barebones story set to have this very scenario play out over and over and over again, attractive topless women washing cars. Now the sequel sees a bit of a break from the carwash shenanigans as the entrepreneurs involved in creating the original are set up and sign away the rights to their business. Set to a timer before the carwash is gone for good, the gang must sell lingerie through a television station they rented out to buy back what's theirs.

There’s a charm to the duo of films here, although being made in the early 90s has a distinct 80s feel to its tone. Part one centers on a car wash getting a makeover which causes sales to boom and a romance to blossom, all while the city wants to close their doors due to the crass nature of the business. Part two centers on the success of the business, removing a key lead character and having the women become big-league business associates, who like to wash cars occasionally. Ultimately this film leads the gang to make a wrong move and sell their shares to a corporation, which leads them to rent air time to sell lingerie - a bit risqué for not being HBO.

The second film has a much more energetic feel to it, not as static and dull in its direction. The sequel ups the cheese of the original to eleven and that’s to its benefit as there is no reason for a film like this to be taken seriously. The film is grainy and shows its age through its odd choices in editing and outdated references - but it’s still a fun experience overall that is something to have on as filler.
