​When the Davison family comes under attack during their wedding anniversary getaway, the gang of mysterious killers soon learns that one of the victims harbors a secret talent for fighting back.

Nothing brings a dysfunctional family together like trying to survive against murderous masked intruders. In this nightmarish cult classic — now in 4K for the first time — four siblings are invited, along with their significant others, to their wealthy parents’ remote and rundown vacation estate to celebrate their parents’ wedding anniversary. The festivities go awry when a crew of mask-wearing, crossbow-bearing assailants begin to attack the family, one by one. The victims don’t know who is attacking them or why. All they know for certain is that nobody is safe. With plenty of blood, scares, and macabre humor, this roller coaster ride of terror is a horror collector’s dream!

This eye-popping 4K restoration of the slasher horror classic presented in Dolby Vision HDR and approved by director Adam Wingard, brings more blood-soaked gore than ever before!  Available in 4K in the U.S. for the first time featuring Matt Ryan Tobin’s stunning art rendering of the iconic character, Lamb Mask, on the SteelBook. This edition includes new bonus features previously only available on the UK version released by Second Sight in 2024.

OUR FILM REVIEW

Containing 13 specials released in the U.S. for the first time, transferred over from the Second Sight release and the 2013 Blu-ray. The features are loaded and offer fans of the feature something extra to sink their teeth into - that is if they haven’t already purchased the Second Sight edition from overseas. What is different is the beautiful Steelbook that Lionsgate Limited has released with artwork from Matt Ryan, with a depiction of the iconic Lamb Mask from the movie. 

You’re Next is a modern slasher classic that flies under the radar for some. Actor Sharni Vinson is a badass final girl and her home along style traps are tasty to watch to say the least. Soaked in blood, this slasher has an interesting premise of unwarranted greed being taken down by a guest of the family. 

Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett’s second collab is a wild success and fans of the film will be pleased with this 4K UHD release. It’s a drastic upgrade from the Blu-ray release, but the same transfer seen from the Second Sight one - so those unsure about upgrading from the previous 4K should only do so if they want the collectible Steelbook. 

The film is a solid upgrade from the 2013 Blu-ray with the Dolby Vision helping the overall experience, with the filmmakers admitting that the film has had a few adjustments since its initial release. Those adjustments being brighter lighting and a light grain filter to help sort out the quality of the original cut. The sound quality however doesn’t appear to have been improved over the previous offerings, seemingly being transferred directly over from the original release with a DTS HD MA 5.1 audio track. 

As a huge fan myself of Wingard and Barrett this was an addition to the collection that couldn’t be passed up. Fans that already own the Second Sight release may have to decide if the packaging is worth the upgrade, but those with the Blu-ray should upgrade if they’re truly fans of this slasher.
