OUR MOVIE REVIEW:

Meet Me Next Christmas was an utter surprise for me, enlisting a cast that I was unfamiliar with and having them deliver a relentlessly charming film full of Christmas cheer. I’m not going to lie, the first act of the film had me second guessing if this was worthy of my time. It's a little rough and entirely predictable, but once the chase for the tickets commences things get a little more entertaining.

The film has its major ups and downs from a story perspective, essentially sending our leads on a scavenger hunt to find a ticket to the sold out Pentatonix show. A show in which Layla (Christina Milian) has to attend for her fairytale to begin after she has a meet cute at the airport a Christmas before and her boyfriend cheats on her right before the following holiday. So the race is on to be in attendance.

Christina Milian plays the on-edge and aggravated Layla, who will stop at nothing to get those tickets. While Davelle Ellis’ Teddy stays by her side all throughout the hours leading up to the Pentatonix show looking for tickets to protect his profession. It just so happens that along the way the two may learn more about each other than they expected. No relationship is built entirely in less than two days, but the foundation for one can certainly be set. Meet Me Next Christmas goes for the heart of gold however during the holiday season and hopes for the happily ever after between the two.

The film is fueled with hijinks and sincere moments between Teddy and Layla as they continuously search for a single ticket for this sold out show. Not to mention Teddy appears to be desperately DMing the Pentatonix social media about the duo's trials and failures of obtaining these tickets. This mainly just leads to reactions and bets placed by the musical group as all the tickets have been sold out long before the hunt for the tickets began.

Meet Me Next Christmas is an immensely charming holiday feature holstered by the top notch performances on board. While the film can go a little too off the rails at times with its hijinks, the film remains a fun adventure through the city in search of a ticket for love. While its beginning and ending may be entirely too predictable, what resides within the middle is full of surprises and holiday delight. Plus, a free Pentatonix show comes with admission.
