The Verdict: A Maybe

Agnes is a young woman trying to find her own way in the world whilst living under her controlling mother's roof. With a passion for hair styling, she secretly gets a job at a hair salon as the shampoo attendant to make her own money and quickly befriends the hairstylists. Things are looking up for Agnes, but it's hard for her to ignore the series of strange abdominal pain attacks she can't seem to figure out.

Along with the hilarious side characters, we get vibrant sets and costume designs that tie together to explore the power of friendship, self discovery, and the importance of reproductive health education. This horror-comedy delivers the essence of retro whimsy I have been chasing since 2016's The Love Witch

If you are in the market for nonsensical dialogue set in a vintage overlayed fever dream, The Cramps: A Period Piece will do just the trick!
