'King of the Hill' Season 15 Review

The Verdict: A Must-See
After 15 years off the air, Hulu’s King of the Hill revival in 2025 re-acquainted us with the aged-up versions of the characters we remember. It didn’t try to do too much, but it also didn’t hold itself back. With the shuffling of some characters and a couple of voice adjustments, it was a really fun ride and left me hopeful for the three seasons they quickly greenlit upon its premiere. While at times Season 14 felt like dipping a toe back into the Arlen pool rather than diving headfirst, the all-new Season 15 sheds the training wheels and fully embraces the core fanbase as the love letter to the series it is.
Following an already good revival season, the latest batch of episodes feels like even more of a return to form to the original run, and that’s very rare these days with reboots. There are stronger character dynamics, including more of the neighbors (you can never have enough of the alley). I love how there's real momentum of characters growing apart and some growing closer together, an element of the writing that was lost in the latter half of its original run, favoring more character-driven comedy than socially driven stories. Season 15 retains the usual Bobby and Hank arc, but there are some other fun and unexpected scenarios. The overall writing is much sharper, making it clear how comfortable they became as a result of the fandom’s warm welcome back. This new season is chock-full of pleasant surprises, which is one of the best things you can ask of a revival series with so much legacy behind it. Fans and newcomers alike will be happy that King of the Hill is back again.
