THE DESPERATE HOUR (2022) 

The Desperate Hour is an excruciating 80ish minute film filled with heightened anxiety and uncertainty. The story follows a mother, who recently suffered a great loss, starting what she thinks is a normal day that evolves into a discovery of an active shooter at her child’s school. Naomi Watts carries the entire film that lacks even a half decent script and gives no real message or purpose other than to instill fear. Completely tone deaf to the extremely sensitive nature of the material, the plot never develops enough to achieve the emotional level it deserves.
